Pakistan go down to Tajikistan in AFC U-14 opener

Tajikistan beat Pakistan 1-0 while Afghanistan recorded a 1-0 win over Pakistan- A in the opening match of the AFC U-14 Football Festival being held in Islamabad.

Tajikistan recorded another triumph later in the day against Pakistan- A with 2 goals, scored by Muhammad Sharipor.

The last match of the day between Afghanistan and Pakistan ended in a 0-0 draw.

After the withdrawals of the Iran, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan teams, four teams are left to compete at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-14 Boys Football Festival.

Teams from Pakistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan will be playing over a period of 5 days at the Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex.

Chairman of the organizing committee, Dr. Fazal-ur-Rehman, has assured that full security and facilities will be provided for players and officials involved in the tournament.
